Abstract

A computer implemented method includes identifying a special character in a message generated by a sender. A money transfer prompt is supplied to the sender in response to the special character. A transfer amount is validated. An account transfer for the transfer amount is initiated. The message is sent to a recipient with indicia of the account transfer.

Claims

1. A computer implemented method, comprising:

displaying, via a messaging application operating on a computer system, a message interface on a display screen of the computer system, the message interface having a message functionality prompt to alternately invoke a photograph or video mode, wherein the message functionality prompt is at a first location in the message interface and comprises a button, and wherein the first location is associated with a first region of the message interface that is separate from a second text input region in the message interface used for message generation, wherein the second text input region is usable by the sender for inputting a text message;

receiving, by the computer system via the messaging application, one of a plurality of different special characters a special character in a message generated by a sender using the message interface, the special character corresponding to an electronic commerce software application;

in response to receiving the special character;

identifying, based on geolocation information for the computer system, a vendor proximate to the computer system;

presenting, by the computer system via the messaging application, an application prompt at the first location in response to the identification of the special character;

receiving, by the computer system via the messaging interface, a selection of the application prompt by the sender; and

invoking, by the computer system in response to the selection of the application prompt, the electronic commerce application to display a menu for ordering a product from the vendor proximate to the computer system and to transmit the geolocation information for the computer system to the vendor for delivery of the product to the sender.

2. The computer implemented method of claim 1 further comprising servicing the electronic commerce application in response to engagement from the sender.

3. The computer implemented method of claim 1 wherein invoking the application includes invoking an application server.

4. The computer implemented method of claim 1 wherein the special character is a combination of letters.

5. The computer implemented method of claim 1 wherein the special character is a keyboard character in combination with a set of letters.

6. The computer implemented method of claim 1 wherein the special character is a keyboard character in combination a set of numbers.

7. The computer implemented method of claim 1 wherein the application is adapted to deliver a screen shot from a web site.

8. The computer implemented method of claim 7 wherein the application supports annotation of the screen shot from the web site.

9. The computer implemented method of claim 8 wherein the application supports delivery of the annotation of the screen shot from the web site to a recipient.

10. The computer implemented method of claim 1 wherein invoking is performed in response to interaction with the application prompt.

11. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving, by the computer system via the messaging application, a second special character corresponding to one of a plurality of applications selected from;

a money transfer application, a calculator, a map application, a user contact application and a calendar application;

in response to receiving the second special character, presenting, at the first location by the computer system via the messaging application, a second application prompt corresponding to the application corresponding to the second special character;

receiving, by the computer system via the messaging application, a selection of the second application prompt by the sender; and

invoking, by the computer system in response to the selection of the second application prompt, the application corresponding to the second special character.
