Simple in-store payments
First Claim
1. A computer-implemented method to process transactions, comprising:
- transmitting, by one or more computing device and to an in-store computing device, a notification that a customer is within a store location;
receiving, by the one or more computing devices and from the in-store computing device, (1) a customer identifier associated with the customer within the store location and a payment account and (2) a point-of-sale identifier associated with a point-of-sale computing device and a point-of-sale card, the point-of-sale card being operable with a plurality of different customers;
activating, by the one or more computing device, the point-of-sale card associated with the point-of-sale identifier;
linking, by the one or more computing devices, the customer payment account associated with the customer identifier and the point-of-sale card so a first transaction initiated using the activated and linked point-of-sale card is paid using the linked customer payment account;
receiving, by the one or more computing devices, a transaction request for a transaction between the customer and the point-of-sale computing device associated with the point-of-sale identifier, the transaction initiated using the activated and linked point-of-sale card at the point-of-sale computing device, wherein the transaction request comprises the point-of-sale identifier and a transaction total;
determining, by the one or more computing devices, that (1) the point-of-sale card is activated, (2) the customer payment account is linked to the point-of-sale card, and (3) the customer payment account associated with the activated point-of-sale card has sufficient funds for the transaction total; and
transmitting, by the one or more computing devices, a transaction authorization approving the transaction request.

Abstract
Systems and techniques are provided for in-store payments. A customer identifier and a point-of-sale identifier may be received. A user payment account may be determined based on the customer identifier. The user payment account may be associated with a customer identified by the customer identifier. Transaction data may be received for a transaction for the customer created using the point-of-sale card at a point-of-sale computing device. The transaction data may include a purchase total. The transaction may be authorized. The point-of-sale card may not always be active. The point-of-sale card associated with the point-of-sale identifier may be activated after the user payment account based on the customer identifier is determined. The point-of-sale card may be deactivated after the transaction is authorized.
