1. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to convert an audio signal into a haptic effect, the converting comprising:

  • receiving an audio signal comprising a first data frame and a second data frame;

    determining a maximum amplitude value of the first data frame;

    generating a haptic signal based on the maximum amplitude value of the first data frame; and

    sending the haptic signal to an actuator to generate the haptic effect.
