1. A method for providing improved alignment of a displayed image to a see-through view of a surrounding environment in a head-worn display that provides a displayed image overlaid onto the see-through view of the surrounding environment, wherein the head-worn display comprises an eye camera for imaging of an eye of a user and an externally facing camera for imaging the surrounding environment, comprising:

  • capturing an image of the surrounding environment with the externally facing camera;

    displaying the image of the surrounding environment to the user in the head-worn display so the user simultaneously sees the displayed image of the surrounding environment overlaid onto the see-through view of the surrounding environment;

    using the eye camera to gather control input indicative of a degree of alignment between the displayed image of the surrounding environment and the see-through view of the surrounding environment from the user to adjust the positioning of the displayed image to improve an alignment of the displayed image of the surrounding environment with the see-through view of the surrounding environment wherein the control input is provided by the user for a purpose of indicating the degree of alignment; and

    using the adjusted positioning of the displayed image to improve the alignment of a second displayed image to the see-through view of the surrounding environment.
