1. A system, comprising:
- a proximity probe; and
a probe information element coupled to the proximity probe, wherein the probe information element comprises first data comprising determined first error characteristics of the proximity probe within probe working standard ranges, wherein the determined first error characteristics of the proximity probe are derived from a first test of the proximity probe, wherein the determined first error characteristics of the proximity probe comprise a gain error of the proximity probe, an offset error of the proximity probe, or any combination thereof;
wherein a processor of the system is configured to determine an interchange error of the system based at least in part on the determined first error characteristics received from the probe information element.

10. A method, comprising:
-
decoding, via a processor-based monitor, first data of a probe information element comprising determined first error characteristics of a proximity probe of a proximity probe system within probe working standard ranges; decoding, via the processor-based monitor, second data of a second information element comprising determined second error characteristics of a second component of the proximity probe system within component working standard ranges; receiving, via the processor-based monitor, an output signal from a controller of the proximity probe system, wherein the output signal is related to a distance between the proximity probe and a conductive target object; and determining, via the processor-based monitor, the distance between the proximity probe and the conductive target object based at least in part upon the output signal, the determined first error characteristics of the proximity probe, and the determined second error characteristics of the second component. - View Dependent Claims (11, 12, 13, 14)

15. A system, comprising:
-
a proximity probe system, comprising; a proximity probe; a first physical tag disposed on the proximity probe, wherein the first physical tag comprises first data comprising determined first attributes of the proximity probe within probe working standard ranges, wherein the determined first attributes comprise first error characteristics of the proximity probe derived from a first test of the proximity probe; a controller coupled to the proximity probe, wherein the controller is configured to determine an output signal based at least in part upon a feedback signal received from the proximity probe related to a distance between the proximity probe and a conductive target object; and a monitor comprising a processor configured to; receive the output signal from the controller and the determined first attributes of the proximity probe; determine an interchange error of the proximity probe system based at least in part on the first error characteristics of the determined first attributes of the proximity probe received by the monitor; and determine the distance between the proximity probe and the conductive target object based at least in part upon the output signal and the determined first attributes. - View Dependent Claims (16, 17, 18, 19)
