1. A computer-implemented method comprising:

  • displaying, by a computer processor and on a display coupled to the computer processor, a two-dimensional representation of an arrangement of electrodes of a lead having one or more segmented electrodes;

    displaying, by the computer processor and on the display, a three-dimensional clinical effects map having a first axis, a second axis, and a third axis, wherein the first axis is perpendicular to the second and third axes, wherein the first axis and second axis of the clinical effects map correspond to the two-dimensional representation of the arrangement of the electrodes and the third axis represents one of a plurality of stimulation parameters with positions along the third axis corresponding to numerical values of the one of the stimulation parameters; and

    displaying, by the computer processor and on the display, a plurality of markings on the clinical effects map, wherein each of the markings represents a stimulation instance and is displayed at a position with coordinates along the first axis and second axis corresponding to the electrode used for stimulation in the stimulation instance and a coordinate along the third axis corresponding to the numerical value of the one of the stimulation parameters used for stimulation in the stimulation instance, wherein each marking has a graphical characteristic representing a therapeutic effect or a side-effect resulting from the stimulation instance.
