1. A method for replacing a heart valve, having an annulus, with a low-profile prosthetic valve, the method comprising:

  • deploying a temporary valve (TV) in a vessel in proximity to the annulus to partially occlude the vessel, the TV comprising a central catheter mechanism and an expandable occluding element surrounding a distal end of the central catheter mechanism;

    deploying a plurality of low-profile stents within the valve annulus to prepare the annulus for implantation of the low-profile prosthetic valve, wherein the plurality of low-profile stents are advanced through the central catheter mechanism prior to deployment; and

    deploying the low-profile prosthetic valve inside the plurality of low-profile stents, wherein the low-profile prosthetic valve is advanced through the central catheter mechanism prior to deployment.
