1. A support system, comprising:
- a backbone;
at least one holding structure connected to the backbone via a first set of attaching points, the at least one holding structure further comprising a top portion, a base portion and an intermediate rod portion;
at least one clamp assembly configured to clamp to the intermediate rod portion of the at least one holding structure, the at least one clamp assembly further comprising;
a frame housing, the frame housing comprising a first and a second substantially parallel surfaces that are connected through a substantially perpendicular, back surface;
a latch configured to be received by the back surface of the frame housing;
at least one gear plate substantially disposed in the frame housing, the at least one gear plate further comprising a jaw shaped end and a gear shaped end;
at least one handle configured such that displacement of the at least one handle causes displacement of the at least one gear plate to move the jaw shaped end from a first position to a second position; and
one or more bias members configured to bias the jaw shaped end to the first position;
a device coupled to the frame housing by way of the latch and positioned on the at least one holding structure via the at least one clamp assembly; and
at least one detachable alternative power supply system configured to be in communication with the device, the at least one detachable alternative power supply system further comprising a housing positioned to receive the base portion of the at least one holding structure.
