1. A method for securely transmitting data, comprising:
- preparing data including glucose levels using a continuous glucose sensor unit;
wirelessly transmitting the data relating to the glucose levels to at least one display device from a transmitter associated with the continuous glucose sensor unit;
automatically forwarding the data relating to the glucose levels from the at least one display device to a cloud computing architecture; and
storing the data relating to the glucose levels in separate groups at the cloud computing architecture, wherein the data relating to the glucose levels comprises a first set of data and a second set of data, wherein the first set of data comprises real-time data, the real-time data comprising one or more of glucose values, a current status of the continuous glucose sensor unit, or timestamps associated with measurements used to obtain the glucose values; and
the second set of data comprises at least one of information for calibrating the continuous glucose sensor unit and information used for technical support of the continuous glucose sensor unit;
encrypting the first set of data by the transmitter;
encrypting the second set of data by the transmitter;
decrypting and displaying the first set of data by the at least one display device;
preventing the at least one display device from decrypting the second set of data;
decrypting the second set of data by the cloud computing architecture;
storing a first key to decrypt the first set of data by the at least one display device;
storing a second key to decrypt the second set of data by the cloud computing architecture;
preventing the second key from being accessed by the at least one display device; and
selectively determining, by the cloud computing architecture, whether to grant access to the first set of data and the second set of data by one or more requesting systems, wherein the requesting systems comprise a technical support system, at least one third-party application, and a data warehouse, wherein the cloud computing architecture;
grants the technical support system access to the first set of data and the second set of data;
grants the at least one third-party application access to the first set of data; and
grants the data warehouse access to the first set of data and the second set of data.

The present disclosure relates to techniques for receiving glucose data from a continuous glucose sensor and controlling the use and redistribution of that data so it is used in an intended manner. In one aspect, a method includes preparing data including glucose levels using a continuous glucose sensor unit; wirelessly transmitting the data relating to the glucose levels to a display device from the continuous glucose sensor unit; automatically forwarding the data relating to the glucose levels from the display device to a cloud computing architecture; and storing the data relating to the glucose levels in separate groups at the cloud computing architecture.

9. A system for monitoring data relating to analyte levels, comprising:

a continuous glucose sensor unit configured to prepare data relating to glucose levels, the continuous glucose sensor unit including a wireless transmitter configured to transmit the data relating to the glucose levels; at least one display device configured to receive the transmitted data relating to the glucose levels and automatically forward the data; and a cloud computing architecture configured to receive the automatically forwarded data and store the data relating to the glucose levels in separate groups, wherein the data relating to the glucose levels comprises a first set of data and a second set of data, and further wherein the first set of data comprises real-time data, the real-time data comprising one or more of glucose values, a current status of the continuous glucose sensor unit, or timestamps associated with measurements used to obtain the glucose values; and
the second set of data comprises at least one of information for calibrating the continuous glucose sensor unit and information used for technical support of the continuous glucose sensor unit,wherein the wireless transmitter is further configured to encrypt the first set of data and the second set of data, the at least one display device is further configured to decrypt and display the first set of data;
the at least one display device cannot decrypt the second set of data;
the cloud computing architecture is further configured to decrypt the second set of data;
the at least one display device is further configured to store a first key to decrypt the first set of data;
the cloud computing architecture is further configured to store a second key to decrypt the second set of data; and
the at least one display device cannot access the second key; andwherein the cloud computing architecture is further configured to selectively determine whether to grant access to the first set of data and the second set of data by one or more requesting systems, wherein the requesting systems comprise a technical support system, at least one third-party application, and a data warehouse, wherein the cloud computing architecture is further configured to; grant the technical support system access to the first set of data and the second set of data; grant the at least one third-party application access to the first set of data; and grant the data warehouse access to the first set of data and the second set of data. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18)
