1. A display apparatus with a touch detecting function having a touch detection device and a display device arranged in a manner overlapping with the touch detection device, the display apparatus comprising:

  • an array substrate;

    an opposed substrate opposed to the array substrate;

    a display functional layer disposed between the array substrate and the opposed substrate;

    a drive electrode layer that is disposed on the array substrate and includes a plurality of drive electrodes formed in stripes and arranged in an array direction, the drive electrodes includingan end drive electrode that has a first width in the array direction and that is provided to at least one end in the array direction, andmiddle drive electrodes other than the end drive electrode, each of the middle drive electrodes having a second width in the array direction, the first width being greater than the second width;

    a plurality of pixel electrodes arranged on a display functional side of the array substrate in a display area to display an image, the plurality of pixel electrodes being disposed on the plurality of drive electrodes via an insulation layer, wherein a common voltage is applied between the plurality of pixel electrodes and the plurality of drive electrodes such that the display functional layer performs an image display function;

    a plurality of touch detection electrodes that are arranged on an observer side of the opposed substrate in a manner facing the plurality of drive electrodes and generate capacitance with the plurality of drive electrodes;

    a chip;

    a first wiring electrically connected to the chip;

    a second wiring extending in a direction different from the first wiring; and

    a touch detecting unit configured to detect a position of an object in contiguity with a touch detection area based on detection signals supplied from the plurality of touch detection electrodes,wherein the end drive electrode, which has the first width greater than the second width and which is located farther from the chip than the middle drive electrodes each having the second width, overlaps a frame area outside the display area in the array direction, and where no pixel electrodes are disposed in the frame area,wherein the second width is an integral multiple of a pixel pitch that is an arrangement interval between the plurality of pixel electrodes in the display area,wherein a difference between the first width and the second width is an even integral multiple of the pixel pitch, andwherein the end drive electrode overlaps with the second wiring in the frame area and is electrically coupled to the second wiring via a plurality of contact portions in the frame area.
