1. A connector device, comprising:
- a connector body having a first diameter;
a proximal first member and a distal first member, each being configured to be deployed on opposite ends of the connector body within a first vessel and a second vessel;
a proximal second member and a distal second member, each being configured to be deployed, respectively, opposite the proximal first member and the proximal second member;
wherein the proximal and distal first members and the proximal and distal second members are each configured to be resiliently biased to bend radially outwardly from the connector body and to also produce a grip strength from 3-45 gram-force upon an intervening blood vessel.

Abstract
A shunt rivet for implantation in the aorta and inferior vena cava to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and a method of treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The shunt rivet may be formed to have a central section, a proximal clinch section, and a distal clinch section each having one or more clinch members. These one or more clinch members may be trained to be resiliently biased to bend radially outwardly from the central section.

9. A method of treating a patient, comprising:
-
percutaneously positioning a connector body within a first vessel, the connector body having a first diameter, a proximal first member and a distal first member, each being configured to be deployed on opposite ends of the connector body within the first vessel and a second vessel, a proximal second member and a distal second member, each being configured to be deployed, respectively, opposite the proximal first member and the proximal second member; and releasing each of the proximal first and second members and distal first and second members such that the proximal first and second members impinge upon an internal wall of the first vessel and the second vessel with a grip strength from 3-45 gram-forced. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15)
