1. A computer implemented system for demand management in an energy supply network, the system being a computer configured to:

  • a. receive a price offer from an energy retailer, the price offer including;

    (1) a consumption change requirement representing a change in energy consumption requested of energy consumers, and(2) an offered price representing value to be given to the energy consumers in return for the required consumption change;

    b. receive consumption offers from several energy consumers, each consumption offer including;

    (1) a consumption change offer representing energy consumption limitations that an energy consumer would accept for one or more energy-consuming devices, and(2) a price requirement representing value required by the energy consumer in return for the energy consumption limitations;

    c. produce an aggregated consumption offer from selected consumption offers wherein;

    (1) the sum of the price requirements of the selected consumption offers is less than or equal to the offered price of the price offer, and(2) the sum of the consumption change offers is greater than or equal to the consumption change requirement of the price offer;

    d. control one or more energy-consuming devices of the energy consumers who submitted the selected consumption offers, whereby these energy-consuming devices meet the energy consumption limitations of the consumption change offer.
