Incident resource management
First Claim
1. An incident resource management system, comprising:
- a first nodal subsystem;
at least one mobile nodal subsystem, each of the at least one mobile nodal subsystem being associated with a mobile resource (MR),a plurality of distributive nodal subsystems, each distributive nodal subsystem being located such that it selectively controls flow of traffic through a specific portion of a roadway;
a communications network communicatively linking each of the first nodal subsystem, the at least one mobile subsystem and the plurality of distributive nodal subsystems to allow communications therebetween;
wherein the first nodal subsystem, the at least one mobile subsystem and the plurality of distributive nodal subsystems each includes a computing device comprising at least a memory, a processor and processing logic for execution in the processor;
wherein the processing logic for the first nodal subsystem is configured and arranged for acquiring information regarding an incident, the information including a type of the incident and a location of the incident, for identifying a given MR based on the type of the incident and an operational capability associated with the given MR to respond to the incident, for determining a selected path to the incident based on a location of the given MR and the location of the incident, and for sending messages via the communications network to the given MR to be assigned to the incident, and to designate respective distributive nodal subsystems which are associated with the selected path;
wherein the processing logic of each of the at least one mobile subsystem is configured and arranged for generating updated path information for a dispatched given MR, and sending the updated path information to at least the designated respective distributive nodal subsystems which are associated with the selected path via the communications network; and
wherein the processing logic of the distributive nodal subsystem is configured and arranged for receiving updated path information from the at least one mobile nodal subsystem for determining a position of the given MR with respect to a given distributive nodal subsystem of the respective selected path and determining if the determined position corresponds to a trigger point for the given distributive nodal subsystem, and taking action to control the flow of traffic through the specific portion of a roadway.

Abstract
In an embodiment, a system may comprise a communications network and processing logic. The processing logic may acquire information regarding an incident, identify a first mobile resource (MR) that may respond to the incident based on a type of the incident and a capability associated with the first MR. The processing logic may further identify a generic path scenario to the incident based on a location of the MR and a location of the incident. The processing logic may identify that the first MR is preferred over a second MR with respect to responding to the incident and assign the first MR to the incident. The processing logic may send a message via the communications network to the first MR to notify the first MR that it has been assigned to the incident.
