  • a pair of combined ECG/therapy electrodes, each combined ECG/therapy electrode of the pair of combined ECG/therapy electrodes including at least one of a plurality of ECG sensing electrodes and at least one of a plurality of therapy electrodes that are disposed on a common adhesive backing,wherein the plurality of ECG sensing electrodes are configured to monitor an ECG signal of a patient, and the plurality of therapy electrodes are configured to deliver one or more therapeutic pulses of energy to a body of the patient;

    a control unit coupled to the pair of combined ECG/therapy electrodes and configured to receive the monitored ECG signal of the patient, and responsive to a detection of a cardiac arrhythmia in the patient based on the monitored ECG signal, initiate a treatment sequence culminating in a provision of at least one therapeutic pulse of energy to the patient via the plurality of therapy electrodes of the pair of combined ECG/therapy electrodes if the patient does not indicate that the patient is conscious; and

    at least one patient responsiveness button disposed on one or more of the pair of combined ECG/therapy electrodes and by which the patient can indicate that the patient is conscious and to delay or withhold the treatment sequence,wherein the wearable defibrillator device is configured to provide protection from cardiac arrest during operation in a wet environment.
