1. A system for providing a distributed communications network, the system comprising:

  • a server configured to transmit a signal comprising information destined for a node device; and

    a first gateway and a second gateway spatially separated from each other, the first gateway and the second gateway each configured to;

    collect phase and amplitude information on one or more node signals respectively received from the node device;

    cause the server to perform beamforming on the signal using the collected phase and amplitude information, the beamformed signal to be redirected to the node device via the first gateway and the second gateway;

    receive the beamformed signal from the server; and

    cause the received signal to be selectively enhanced in a respective spatial direction relative to the node device when redirected to the node device via the corresponding first or second gateway.
