1. An coaxial connector for passing CATV signals, the connector comprising:
- a body, an electrical contact, and a metallic disk shaped waveguide;
the body including a female port coaxially arranged about a centerline;
the electrical contact aligned along the centerline and electrically isolated from the body;
the waveguide fixed with respect to the body and in a plane perpendicular to the centerline; and
,the centerline passing through a central aperture of the waveguide;
wherein the waveguide is located to one side of the electrical contact and configured to limit entry of stray RF signals into a body cavity enclosing the electrical contact.

7. An F-Type coaxial connector for passing CATV signals, the connector comprising:
-
a body and an insulator, the insulator spacing an electrical contact of a female port to a location along a central axis of the connector; the electrical contact including a portion wrapped around the central axis and inwardly directed fingers for contacting a male connector center pin; and
,a metallic disc shaped waveguide within the body, the waveguide spaced apart from the electrical contact and having an aperture aligned with the electrical contact; wherein the waveguide is configured to limit entry of stray RF signals into a body cavity enclosing the electrical contact when the connector is not in use and the waveguide is configured to receive a center conductor of a male connector when the connector is in use. - View Dependent Claims (8, 9, 10)

11. A method of electrically shielding a coaxial cable connector, the method comprising the steps of:
-
providing a body, an electrical contact, and a metallic disc shaped waveguide; supporting the electrical contact along a connector centerline with an insulator; fixing the waveguide within the body such that a waveguide aperture is opposite the electrical contact; establishing an electrical circuit through the connector when a mating connector conductor is passed through the waveguide; and
,electrically shielding the electrical contact with the waveguide to limit entry of stray RF signals into a body cavity enclosing the electrical contact. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15)
