A method of treating cancer in a human subject, comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of an IL-10 agent, wherein the amount administered to the subject is sufficient to achieve a mean IL-10 serum trough concentration in said subject of at least the EC50 of the IL-10 agent, and wherein the serum trough concentration is maintained for at least 90% over a period of time of at least one week.
