1. A disposable multilayered device for releasably holding elongated medical devices or members on or near a patient, which consists essentially of:

  • an upper firm layer having upper and lower surfaces;

    a middle compressible foam layer having upper and lower surfaces, the upper surface of the middle compressible foam layer adhering to the lower surface of the upper firm layer; and

    a lower adhesive layer having upper and lower surfaces, for securing said device to or near the patient, wherein the upper surface of the lower adhesive layer adheres to the lower surface of the middle compressible foam layer,wherein the device has a first longitudinal lateral surface and a second, oppositely positioned longitudinal lateral surface,wherein one or more laterally extending channels extend horizontally from the first longitudinal lateral surface to the second longitudinal lateral surface and vertically from the upper surface of the upper firm layer through the middle compressible foam layer to the upper surface of the lower adhesive layer, andwherein one or more elongated medical devices or members can be positioned in the laterally extending channels to maintain position relative to the disposable multilayered device and then be easily removed.
