1. An article of manufacture, comprising:

  • an electronic assembly, comprising a printed circuit board (“

    PCB”

    ) having a top side and an underneath side, said top side configured with a plurality of light emitting diodes (“

    LEDs”

    ), an on/off switch and electronics which are;

    (1) mounted to said top side and (2) powered by a battery mounted to said PCB;

    a watertight package, said watertight package comprising a first member which is sealed to a second member, said second member having a cavity of a preselected depth which separates the first member from a bottom housing of the second member; and

    a light effect material having an inner surface and an outer surface with a plurality of dispersive elements, said light effect material being configured so that light emitted from each of the plurality of LEDs is dispersed by the plurality of dispersive elements so as to create a light material viewing effect;

    wherein the electronic assembly is configured within the cavity and oriented so that the top side is more proximate the bottom housing than the underneath side;

    wherein the bottom housing is flexible and a transparent space is created between the bottom housing and the plurality of LEDs;

    wherein the bottom housing and the on/off switch are configured so that when pressure is applied in a downward direction to the bottom housing relative to the first member said on/off switch will turn the plurality of LEDs on or off;

    wherein the light material viewing effect is created for a viewer viewing light emitted from each LED through a first viewing path that begins with each LED, then goes through the transparent space, then goes through the inner surface, then goes through the outer surface, then goes to the viewer;

    wherein a non-light material viewing effect is created for the viewer viewing light emitted from each LED through a second viewing path in which the light effect material has been removed and the second viewing path begins with each LED, then goes through the transparent space, then goes to the viewer; and

    wherein the viewer perceives the light material viewing effect to extend over a wider area than the non-light material viewing effect when the first viewing path and the second viewing path have an identical preselected distance.
