- when a mobile computing device is without network access, detecting, by a mobile computing device, a predefined condition or event; and
in response to detecting the predefined condition or event, activating, by the mobile computing device, at least one of a plurality of notifications by determining which of a plurality of applications are to receive the activated notification.

The mobile computing device may detect the predefined condition or event at a second instance.
