1. A method for wireless communication, comprising:
- generating, with a second tier wireless communication device of a network operating in a shared spectrum, a beacon that includes a short training field (STF), a long training field (LTF), and a beacon information field, the beacon information field including an enablement signal instructing other wireless communication devices of the second tier or a lower tier as to when communications are allowed over the shared spectrum by the other wireless communication devices; and
transmitting, from the second tier wireless communication device of the network during a time slot of a sub-frame based on a predetermined schedule, the beacon including the enablement signal to instruct the other wireless communication devices of the second tier or the lower tier as to when communications are allowed over the shared spectrum by the other wireless communication devices; and
coordinating, by the second tier wireless communication device of the network with the other wireless communication device of the second tier and the lower tier, communications over the shared spectrum using the transmitted beacon.

Aspects of the present disclosure relate generally to wireless communication systems, and more particularly, to beacons for shared spectrum operation among multiple tiers of users. For example, a method for wireless communication is provided that includes generating, with a second tier wireless communication device of a network operating in a shared spectrum, a beacon that includes a short training field (STF), a long training field (LTF), and a beacon information field, the beacon information field including data about the network; and transmitting, from the second tier wireless communication device of the network, the beacon during a time slot of a sub-frame such that communications over the shared spectrum are coordinated based on the beacon.
