1. A method, comprising:
- receiving, by a television receiver, media content;
storing, by the television receiver, the received media content;
processing, by the television receiver, a listing associated with the media content to facilitate playback content at a specified frame rate of only highlights from the media content, the listing comprising;
first time information corresponding to a first event occurring in the playback of the media content, where the first time information comprises;
a first pre-event time prior to occurrence of the first event in the playback of the media content; and
a first post-event time subsequent to the occurrence of the first event in the playback of the media content;
second time information corresponding to a second event occurring in the playback of the media content, where the second time information comprises;
a second pre-event time prior to occurrence of the second event in the playback of the media content; and
a second post-event time subsequent to the occurrence of the second event in the playback of the media content;
the first event and the second event identified as potentially interesting or significant over other portions of the media content based at least in part on differentiating a threshold number of actions attributed to one or more particular groups of individuals;
identifying, by the television receiver, a first position during the playback of the media content associated with the first pre-event time prior to occurrence of the first event;
automatically adjusting, by the television receiver without user input, the playback of the media content to the identified first position, and causing the playback of the media content at the specified frame rate from the identified first position until a subsequent position during the playback that corresponds to the first post-event time;
identifying, by the television receiver, a second position during the playback of the media content associated with the second pre-event time prior to occurrence of the second event; and
automatically adjusting, by the television receiver without user input, the playback of the media content to the identified second position, and causing the playback of the media content at the specified frame rate from the identified second position until a subsequent position during the playback that corresponds to the second post-event time.
