1. A system for treating obesity and diabetes, the system comprising:
- a removable intestinal sleeve configured to be implanted along a treatment length of an intestine of a patient to prevent nutrients from contacting a lining of the intestine along the treatment length, such that an initial microbial population along the treatment length of the patient'"'"'s intestine is reduced without the use of antibiotics, wherein the intestinal sleeve is impregnated or coated with a probiotic therapy such that the probiotic therapy is deliverable at least to the treatment length of the intestine of the patient to promote beneficial intestinal microbial flora at least along the treatment length of the intestine of the patient while the intestinal sleeve is implanted and after the intestinal sleeve is removed.
