1. A method for link adaptation in a hybrid device-to-device (D2D) and cellular network, the method comprising:

  • receiving, by at least one of two D2D user equipment in D2D communication, resource allocation information and assistance information from a base station, wherein the assistance information is used to divide resources conveyed by the resource allocation information into different types based upon correspondingly different interference sources, and wherein the assistance information comprises indications to differentiate idle resources, resources receiving interference from cellular user equipments, and resources receiving interference from other D2D user equipments; and

    performing, by the at least one of the two D2D user equipment in D2D communication, respective link adaptation based upon the respective different types of resources identified by the assistance information.
