1. A plate segment configured to be mounted on a disc of a disperser or refiner of comminuted cellulosic material, the plate segment comprising:
- a front face including disperser teeth or refining bars;
a back face opposing the front face, the back face including a raised post surrounding a hole configured to receive a fastener a raised plate positioning section;
lateral sides extending between the front face and the back face; and
a radially outer side and a radially inner side extending between the lateral sides, wherein the radially inner side comprises a contact edge;
wherein the back face lacks raised structures along the lateral aides,wherein the raised post and raised plate positioning section each have contact surfaces, wherein the contact surfaces and the contact edge are aligned in a common contact plane, and wherein the back face is not configured to abut a disc of a disperser or a refiner of comminuted cellulosic material.
