Abstract

According to one embodiment, a method of processing broadcast data in a broadcast transmitter includes: encoding the broadcast data for broadcast service; encoding signaling information for signaling the broadcast data; assigning the encoded broadcast data and the encoded signaling information into a signal frame; and transmitting a broadcast signal including the signal frame. The broadcast signal further includes a signaling table having access information of the broadcast data. The signaling table includes service id information for identifying the broadcast service and component information for indicating a number of components in the broadcast service.

Claims

1. A method of processing data in a broadcast transmitting system, the method comprising:

encoding data in at least one first data packet by an encoder,

wherein the least one first data packet includes a first header and a first payload,

wherein the first header includes stuffing indication information related to stuffing data in the at least one first data packet,

wherein the first payload includes at least one second data packet,

wherein the at least one second data packet has a second header and a second payload,

wherein the second payload includes two or more IP (Internet protocol) packets which carry service components of a service, and

wherein the second header includes information for indicating a number of the two or more IP packets included in the second payload; and

transmitting a transmission frame including the encoded data by a transmitter,

wherein the transmission frame further includes fast service acquisition information providing information necessary to locate service signaling information, service type information of the service, and channel information of the service, and

wherein the service signaling information includes access information of the service components.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the service signaling information further includes information for indicating whether the service is active.

3. An apparatus of processing data in a broadcast transmitting system, the apparatus comprising:

an encoder to encode data in at least one first data packet,

wherein the at least one first data packet includes a first header and a first payload,

wherein the first header includes stuffing indication information related to stuffing data in the at least one first data packet,

wherein the first payload includes at least one second data packet,

wherein the at least one second data packet has a second header and a second payload,

wherein the second payload includes two or more IP (Internet protocol) packets which carry service components of a service, and

wherein the second header includes information for indicating a number of the two or more IP packets included in the second payload; and

a transmitter to transmit a transmission frame including the encoded data,

wherein the transmission frame further includes fast service acquisition information providing information necessary to locate service signaling information, service type information of the service, and channel information of the service, and

wherein the service signaling information includes access information of the service components.

4. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein the service signaling information further includes information for indicating whether the service is active.

5. A method of processing data in a broadcast receiving system, the method comprising:

receiving a transmission frame including at least one first data packet,

wherein the at least one first data packet includes a first header and a first payload,

wherein the first header includes stuffing indication information related to stuffing data in the at least one first data packet,

wherein the first payload includes at least one second data packet,

wherein the at least one second data packet includes a second header and a second payload,

wherein the second payload includes two or more IP (Internet protocol) packets which carry service components of a service, and

wherein the second header includes information for indicating a number of the two or more IP packets included in the second payload;

decoding data in the received transmission frame and outputting the at least one first data packet;

obtaining the at least one second data packet from the first payload based on the first header; and

obtaining the two or more IP packets from the second payload based on the second header,

wherein the received transmission frame further includes fast service acquisition information providing information necessary to locate service signaling information, service type information of the service, and channel information of the service, and

wherein the service signaling information includes access information of the service components.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the service signaling information further includes information for indicating whether the service is active.

7. An apparatus for processing data in a broadcast receiving system, the apparatus comprising:

a tuner to receive a transmission frame including at least one first data packet,

wherein the at least one first data packet includes a first header and a first payload,

wherein the first header includes stuffing indication information related to stuffing data in the at least one first data packet,

wherein the first payload includes at least one second data packet,

wherein the at least one second data packet includes a second header and a second payload,

wherein the second payload includes two or more IP (Internet protocol) packets which carry service components of a service, and

wherein the second header includes information for indicating a number of the two or more IP packets included in the second payload;

a decoder to decode data in the received transmission frame and output the at least one first data packet;

a first handler to obtain the at least one second data packet from the first payload based on the first header; and

a second handler to obtain the two or more IP packets from the second payload based on the second header,

wherein the received transmission frame further includes fast service acquisition information providing information necessary to locate service signaling information, service type information of the service, and channel information of the service, and

wherein the service signaling information includes access information of the service components.

8. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the service signaling information further includes information for indicating whether the service is active.
