Speaker mount and assembly and method of disengagement thereof
First Claim
1. A speaker mount, comprising:
- a. a speaker baffle;
b. a support member extending from the speaker baffle and having an elevated region spaced therefrom and a closer region closer to the speaker baffle than the elevated region;
c. a tab movably coupled to the support member such that it can travel between the elevated region and the closer region and including leeway in the coupling between the tab and the support member such that the tab can tip relative to the support member, the tab including a finger extending away from the support member and shaped to engage with a surface when the speaker mount is installed, thereby causing the tab to tip relative to the support member; and
d. wherein each of the tab and the support member include mating teeth facing each other that are positioned to press against each other and thereby engage when the tab tips relative to the support member when the finger engages with a surface and to be spaced apart and thereby not engage when the tab is not tipped, and when so engaged to each other when the tab tips due, to the finger engaging with a surface, prevent travel of the tab from the closer region to the elevated region.

Abstract
A mount, speaker mount, mount assembly, and method of disengagement thereof including a speaker baffle; a support member; a movable tab with a finger that extends away from the support member and/or shaped to engage with a surface when the speaker mount is installed, thereby causing the tab to tip relative to the support member. Each of the tab and the support member include mating teeth that, when engaged to each other when the tab tips due to the finger engaging with a surface, prevent travel of the tab from the closer region to the elevated region. There is an aperture through the baffle that provides access to apply pressure to a bottom of the tab to allow for an object to be inserted therein to disengage the mating teeth.

9. A mount assembly, comprising:
-
a. a mount body; b. a support member extending from the mount body and having an elevated region spaced therefrom and a closer region closer to a speaker baffle than the elevated region; c. a tab movably coupled to the support member such that it can travel between the elevated region and the closer region and including an angled surface adjacent, to the support member that, creates leeway in the coupling between the tab and the support member such that the tab can tip relative to the support member, the tab including a finger extending away from the support member and shaped to engage with a surface when the mount is installed, thereby causing the tab to tip relative to the support member when the finger is pressed against the surface, the tab including a front surface that is opposite the finger; and d. wherein each of the tab and the support member include mating teeth that face each other and that, when engaged to each other when the tab tips due to cooperation of the angled surface and the finger engaging with a surface, prevent travel of the tab from the closer region to the elevated region, wherein the mating teeth of the tab are disposed on the angled surface of the tab. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15)

16. A speaker mount, comprising:
-
a. a speaker baffle; b. a support member extending from the speaker baffle and having an elevated region spaced therefrom and a closer region closer to the speaker baffle than the elevated region; c. a tab movably coupled to the support member such that it can travel between the elevated region and the closer region and such that it can tip relative to the support member, the tab including a linger extending away from the support member and shaped to engage with a surface when the speaker mount is installed, thereby causing the tab to tip relative to the support member; d. a tab bias member functionally coupled to the tab such that the tab is biased towards a mount body; e. an aperture through the mount body that provides access to apply pressure to a bottom of the tab; and f. wherein each of the tab and the support member include mating teeth that, when engaged to each other when the tab tips due to the finger engaging with a surface, prevent travel of the tab from the closer region to the elevated region, wherein the mating teeth of the tab are disposed along a top region of a front surface thereof and wherein the tab has an angled surface along each of the top region of the front surface and a bottom region of a back surface. - View Dependent Claims (17, 18)
