- an analyte sensor for positioning in fluid contact with bodily fluid under a skin surface to monitor an analyte level in the bodily fluid; and
sensor electronics operatively coupled to the analyte sensor and configured to;
detect one or more predefined commands received from a remote location each having an associated signal strength, communicate an identification information to the remote location in response to the one or more predefined commands received from the remote location when the predefined commands from the remote location have a signal strength greater than a predetermined threshold, the sensor electronics further configured to communicate a response data packet to the remote location based on the received one or more predefined commands.
