1. A prosthetic heart valve having an inflow end and an outflow end, comprising:

  • a collapsible and expandable stent including a plurality of commissure features, a plurality of first struts defining a substantially cylindrical portion, a plurality of curled second struts having first ends attached to the cylindrical portion and free ends projecting radially outward from the cylindrical portion to anchor the stent to the heart tissue, the free ends of a first group of the plurality of second struts have a first polarity and the free ends of a second group of the plurality of second struts have a second polarity opposite the first polarity; and

    a collapsible and expandable valve assembly disposed within the stent and having a plurality of leaflets coupled to the commissure features.
