1. A radar sensing system for a vehicle, the radar sensing system comprising:

  • a plurality of transmitters configured for installation and use on a vehicle, and configured to transmit radio signals;

    a plurality of receivers configured for installation and use on the vehicle, and configured to receive radio signals that include transmitted radio signals transmitted by the plurality of transmitters and reflected from objects in an environment; and

    a plurality of antennas, wherein the plurality of antennas comprises a plurality of receive antennas and a plurality of transmit antennas, wherein the antennas of the plurality of antennas are arranged with spacings between adjacent antennas of greater than a half wavelength (λ

    /2) apart, wherein the arrangements of the antennas produce a virtual receive array with virtual antennas spaced no more than λ

    /2 apart, and wherein the spacings of the transmit antennas and the receive antennas suppress grating lobes in the resulting virtual receive array.
