1. A clot retrieval device, comprising:
- a shaft with a proximal end and a distal end; and
an expandable network of struts having a proximal end coupled to and extending distally of a distal-most end of the shaft, the expandable network including;
a plurality of strut members that form an outer expandable body and an inner expandable body, each body being joined at the proximal end coupled to the distal-most end of the shaft, wherein the inner and outer expandable bodies are distally pushable by the shaft from a collapsed delivery configuration to an expanded deployed configuration,at least a portion of some of said plurality of strut members including;
a first coating of radiopaque material defining a plurality of discrete micro-columns, wherein each micro-column includes a length extending between a first end coupled to one of the plurality of strut members and a second free end, opposite the first end, andwherein the second free end is capable of moving further apart when a convex bend is applied to the respective strut member during use;
wherein the length of each micro-column of the plurality of discrete micro-columns is longer than a width of each micro-column of the plurality of discrete micro-columns; and
a second coating; and
a plurality of connections, each connection being between adjacent strut members.

Abstract
A clot retrieval device may include an elongate shaft and an expandable section. The expandable section may include a framework of interconnected strut elements. The connection region between adjacent strut elements may include crown elements. Additionally, the framework may be formed from a substrate material and at least a portion of a plurality of said strut elements may be coated with a coating material. Further, at least a portion of a plurality of said crown elements may not be coated with said coating material.
