First Claim
1. A medical device, comprising:
- a tubular member having a plurality of slots formed therein;
a tubular liner disposed along an inner surface of the tubular member, the tubular liner including a tip region that extends distally beyond a distal end of the tubular member and a proximal end that is radially spaced from a proximal end of the tubular member;
a tip member coupled to the tip region; and
a hub coupled to the proximal end of the tubular member and coupled to the proximal end of the tubular liner, wherein at least a portion of the hub extends along an inner surface of the tubular member; and
wherein the hub is attached to an outer surface of the tubular member.

Abstract
A medical device including a shaft having an elongated inner member and an elongated tubular reinforcing member disposed over at least a portion of the inner member. In some embodiments, at least a portion of the outer surface of the inner member is spaced from the inner surface of the reinforcing member, defining a space substantially free of any other structures of the device. In some embodiments, the shaft can include a tip structure disposed on a distal portion of the inner member. In some such embodiments, the reinforcing member has a distal end, and the tip structure is disposed on the distal portion of the inner member adjacent the distal end of the reinforcing member. Additionally, in some embodiments, the reinforcing member can include a plurality of apertures defined therein, for example, to enhance the flexibility or other such characteristics of all or portions of the reinforcing member.

16. A medical device, comprising:
-
a hub having a distal attachment region and a proximal adapter; an elongate shaft coupled to a first attachment portion of the distal attachment region; wherein the shaft includes a distal end and a plurality of cuts; a tubular liner disposed within the shaft and coupled to a second attachment portion of the distal attachment region; wherein the tubular liner extends through the shaft and includes a tip section extending distally of the distal end of the shaft; a tip member coupled to the tip section of the tubular liner; wherein the first attachment portion is radially spaced from the second attachment portion such that a gap is defined between the shaft and the tubular liner; and wherein the hub includes a hub projection that extends into the gap. - View Dependent Claims (17, 18)
