- automatically transitioning a door lock of a vehicle from a deactivated state to an activated state based on a door lock schedule that includes at least one deactivated period where the door lock is scheduled to be in the deactivated state, and at least one activated period where the door lock is scheduled to be in the activated state;
without transitioning the door lock, adjusting the at least one deactivated period, the at least one activated period, or both; and
preventing an opening of a rear door from inside a passenger compartment of a vehicle when the door lock is in the activated state, and permitting the opening of the rear door from outside the passenger compartment when the door lock is in the activated state.
