Abstract

An agricultural seeder implement includes an opener including a first complemental element and a second complemental element, and a soil distributing assembly mounted to the opener for movement between a lowered position and a raised position. The soil distributing assembly is disabled from moving beyond the lowered position, when an element of the soil distributing assembly is engaged to the first complemental element when the soil distributing assembly is in the lowered position, and is disabled from moving beyond the raised position, when the element is engaged to the second complemental element when the soil distributing assembly is in the raised position. The element extends through a slot in the opener that extends from a first end wall defining the first complemental element to a second end wall defining the second complemental element.

Claims

1. An agricultural implement, comprising:

an opener for cutting a furrow;

a frame mounted to the opener;

a first disk and a second disk each mounted to the frame;

the frame is mounted pivotally to the opener for movement between a first position and a second position;

the first disk and the second disk are each in a lowered position, when the frame is in the first position;

the first disk and the second disk are each in a raised position, when the frame is in the second position;

an element carried by the frame;

a first complemental element and a second complemental element carried by the opener;

the frame is disabled from moving beyond the first position thereof disabling the first disk and the second disk from moving beyond the lowered positions thereof, when the element is engaged to the first complemental element when the frame is in the first position thereof;

the frame is disabled from moving beyond the second position thereof disabling the first disk and the second disk from moving beyond the raised positions thereof, when the element is engaged to the second complemental element when the frame is in the second position thereof;

the element extends through a slot in the opener;

the slot is elongate and extends from a first end wall to a second end wall;

the element travels through the slot between the first end wall and the second end wall when the frame pivots between the first and second positions thereof;

the first end wall comprises the first complemental element; and

the second end wall comprises the second complemental element.

2. The agricultural implement according to claim 1, wherein the element is a bolt assembly.

3. An agricultural implement, comprising:

an opener for cutting a furrow;

a first support and a second support mounted to the opener;

the first support is adjacent to a first side of the opener;

the second support is adjacent to a second side of the opener;

a first disk mounted to the first support;

a second disk mounted to the second support;

the first support and the second support are each mounted pivotally to the opener for movement between a first position and a second position;

the first disk and the second disk are each in a lowered position, when the first support and the second support are each in the first position;

the first disk and the second disk are each in a raised position, when the first support and the second support are each in the second position;

an element carried by the first support and the second support;

a first complemental element and a second complemental element carried by the opener;

the first support and the second support are disabled from moving beyond the first positions thereof disabling the first disk and the second disk from moving beyond the lowered positions thereof, when the element is engaged to the first complemental element when the first support and the second support are in the first positions thereof;

the first support and the second support are disabled from moving beyond the second positions thereof disabling the first disk and the second disk from moving beyond the raised positions thereof, when the element is engaged to the second complemental element when the first support and the second support are in the second positions thereof;

the element extends from the first support and through a slot in the opener to the second support;

the slot is elongate and extends from a first end wall to a second end wall;

the element travels through the slot between the first end wall and the second end wall when the first support and the second support pivot between the first and second positions thereof;

the first end wall comprises the first complemental element; and

the second end wall comprises the second complemental element.

4. The agricultural implement according to claim 3, wherein the element is a bolt assembly connecting the first support to the second support.

5. An agricultural implement, comprising:

an opener for cutting a furrow;

a soil distributing assembly mounted to the opener, the soil distributing assembly is one of a closer, for distributing loosened soil toward the furrow cut by the opener, and a spreader, for distributing loosened soil away from the furrow cut by the opener;

the soil distributing assembly is mounted pivotally to the opener for movement between a lowered position and a raised position;

an element carried by the soil distributing assembly;

a first complemental element and a second complemental element carried by the opener;

the soil distributing assembly is disabled from moving beyond the lowered position, when the element is engaged to the first complemental element when the soil distributing assembly is in the lowered position thereof;

the soil distributing assembly is disabled from moving beyond the raised position, when the element is engaged to the second complemental element when the soil distributing assembly is in the raised position thereof;

the element extends through a slot in the opener;

the slot is elongate and extends from a first end wall to a second end wall;

the element travels through the slot between the first end wall and the second end wall when the frame pivots between the first and second positions thereof;

the first end wall comprises the first complemental element; and

the second end wall comprises the second complemental element.

6. The agricultural implement according to claim 5, wherein the element is a bolt assembly.
