1. A system comprising:
- a plurality of object storage devices each including a plurality of drawers for storing objects and each having an access control device operative to limit access to the object storage device; and
a data processor configured to;
establish a first group including a first subset of the plurality of object storage devices, a first subset of all users of the plurality of object storage devices, and a first subset of all work locations associated with the plurality of object storage devices;
establish a second group including a second subset of the plurality of object storage devices, a second subset of all users of the plurality of object storage devices, and a second subset of all work locations associated with the plurality of object storage devices;
receive from a user a request to access at least one object storage device of the system;
determine whether the user is associated with the first group or the second group; and
based on a result of the determination, control the access control device of at least one object storage device of the plurality of object storage devices to grant the user access to the first subset of the plurality of object storage devices in the first group and at the first subset of all the work locations or the second subset of the plurality of object storage devices in the second group and at the second subset of all work locations.

Abstract
The instant application describes an inventory control system including an object storage device including a drawer or a tray for housing objects; a sensing device configured to acquire an image including information about the objects stored in the object storage device; an interface circuitry in communication with the sensing device and configured to generate object data based on the image acquired by the sensing device; and a processor configured to provide an integrated network access and transmit the object data across a network using a Web Service as defined by World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the Web Service being a data link interface between the inventory control system and a remote system.

-
a plurality of object storage devices each including a plurality of drawers for storing objects and each having an access control device operative to limit access to the object storage device; and a data processor configured to; establish a first group including a first subset of all work locations associated with the plurality of object storage devices and in which work is to be performed by users of the object storage devices; establish a second group including a second subset of all work locations associated with the plurality of object storage devices and in which work is to be performed by users of the object storage devices; receive a request to access at least one object storage device of the system, the request identifying a particular work location in which work is to be performed by a user of the at least one object storage device; determine whether the particular work location is associated with the first group or the second group; and based on a result of the determination, control the access control device of at least one object storage device of the plurality of object storage devices to grant access to object storage devices of the plurality of object storage devices at the first subset of all the work locations or at the second subset of all work locations. - View Dependent Claims (8, 9, 10, 11, 12)
