8. A method for monitoring an antenna used in a distributed antenna system comprising the steps of:
-
connecting an RF path of an antenna to ground through a thermistor; connecting the RF path of the antenna to a RF transmission line through a capacitor; connecting a monitoring module to the RF path of the antenna through a first inductor; injecting a DC signal through the inductor to the RF path of the antenna; measuring a resistance of the path of the DC signal; comparing the measured resistance to a stored value; generating a warning if the compared values exceed a threshold level; correlating the measured resistance to an ambient temperature of the area near the antenna; generating temperature data; and transmitting the temperature data along the RF transmission line to a transceiver. - View Dependent Claims (9)
