Systems, methods, and devices for enhanced OFDMA random access
First Claim
1. A method of wireless communication, comprising:
- receiving, at a first device, a first frame from a second device indicating one or more frequency bandwidths available for random access by the first device;
transmitting, at the first device, a second frame to the second device in response to the first frame, the second frame comprising an indication of an identifier of the first device and indicating a selection of at least one frequency bandwidth of the one or more frequency bandwidths, the second frame comprising a reduced physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) frame, which does not include a medium access control (MAC) payload data portion; and
transmitting, at the first device, a third frame to the second device over the selected at least one frequency bandwidth, the third frame comprising a medium access control (MAC) payload data portion.

Abstract
Systems, methods, and apparatuses for signaling and generating an enhanced random access frame in a wireless network are provided. One aspect of this disclosure provides a method of wireless communication. The method includes receiving, at a first device, a first frame from a second device indicating one or more frequency bandwidths available for random access by the first device. The method further includes transmitting, at the first device, a second frame to the second device in response to the first frame, the second frame comprising an indication of an identifier of the first device and indicating a selection of at least one frequency bandwidth of the one or more frequency bandwidths, the second frame not including a medium access control (MAC) payload data portion.
