1. A driver assembly device for delivery of an implant to a spinal facet joint space in a posterior access procedure, the driver assembly device comprising:
- an elongated body having a proximal end and a distal end, the body defining a lumen having an inner diameter;
an internal actuator extending through the lumen, the actuator having proximal and distal parts;
an implant engagement feature, wherein the implant engagement feature is adjacent the distal end of the elongated body and is adapted to receive at least a portion of a proximal face of the implant, wherein the implant is a cervical implant; and
a handle coupled with the proximal part of the internal actuator,wherein when the handle acts on the proximal part of the internal actuator, the internal actuator displaces along an axis of the lumen of the elongated body to release the implant from the implant engagement feature into the spinal facet joint space, wherein the spinal facet joint space is in the cervical spine.

Abstract
A spinal joint distraction system for treating a facet joint including articular surfaces having a contour is disclosed and may include a delivery device including a generally tubular structure adapted to engage a facet joint, an implant adapted to be delivered through the delivery device and into the facet joint, the implant comprising two members arranged in opposed position, and an implant distractor comprising a generally elongate member adapted to advance between the two members of the implant causing separation of the members and distraction of the facet joint, wherein the implant is adapted to conform to the shape of the implant distractor and/or the articular surfaces of the facet upon being delivered to the facet joint. Several embodiments of a system, several embodiments of an implant, and several methods are disclosed including a method for interbody fusion.

12. A spinal facet implant system, comprising:

a driver assembly comprising; an elongated body having a proximal end and a distal end, the body defining a body lumen having an inner diameter; an internal actuator extending through the body lumen and having proximal and distal parts; an implant engagement feature, wherein the implant engagement feature is adjacent the distal end of the elongated body and is configured to receive at least a portion of a proximal face of the implant; and a handle coupled with the proximal part of the internal actuator; and a delivery device comprising a proximal region, a distal region opposite the proximal region and a tubular body extending between the proximal and distal regions and comprising a delivery lumen extending through the tubular body, the delivery lumen configured to receive the driver assembly; and an implant having a proximal face, wherein at least a portion of the proximal face is adjacent to and releasably coupled to at least one of the implant engagement feature and the internal actuator and wherein the implant is a cervical implant, wherein when the handle acts on the proximal part of the internal actuator, the internal actuator displaces along an axis of the body lumen of the elongated body to release the implant from the implant engagement feature into the spinal facet joint space, wherein the spinal facet joint space is in the cervical spine. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21)
