1. A heart rate monitor, comprising:

  • a pair of contacts that are each configured to electrically couple to one of a pair of sensors in a garment worn by a user;

    a processor;

    control circuitry that is configured to detect a change in impedance across the pair of contacts, and responsive to determining that the impedance is below a threshold, the control circuitry is configured to wake up the processor from a sleep mode, and to sense a cardiac electrical activity of the user utilizing the pair of sensors; and

    a plurality of Radio Frequency (RF) transmitters that are configured to transmit information utilizing different protocols,wherein the processor is configured to calculate a heart rate of the user based on the cardiac electrical activity, and responsive to determining that the heart rate is within a range of heart rate values, the processor is configured to power up the RF transmitters, and to direct the RF transmitters to simultaneously transmit the heart rate utilizing the different protocols to at least one external device.
