Bend-capable stent prosthesis
First Claim
1. A stent, comprising:
- a plurality of stenting rings, each stenting ring including a plurality of struts and points of inflection, each point of inflection connecting adjacent struts, the points of inflection of adjacent stenting rings facing each other along an axis parallel to a longitudinal axis of the stent in a radially expanded stenting disposition while the stent is in an unbent configuration, the adjacent stenting rings including facing unconnected points of inflection designed to axially pass by each other without contacting when the stent is transitioned from the unbent configuration to a bent configuration, the plurality of stenting rings comprising;
a first stenting ring;
a second stenting ring connected to the first stenting ring by a plurality of first connectors extending from points of inflection on the first stenting ring to facing points of inflection on the second stenting ring;
a third stenting ring connected to the second stenting ring by a plurality of second connectors extending from points of inflection on the second stenting ring to facing points of inflection on the third stenting ring; and
a fourth stenting ring connected to the third stenting ring by a plurality of third connectors extending from points of inflection on the third stenting ring to facing points of inflection on the fourth stenting ring, wherein;
the plurality of first, second and third connectors are linear along an entire length thereof and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the stent, each having a length shorter than a length of each of the plurality of struts; and
the plurality of first connectors are longitudinally aligned with the plurality of third connectors along the longitudinal axis of the stent.

Abstract
A stent is described, which includes a plurality of stenting rings, each stenting ring including a plurality of struts and points of inflection, each point of inflection connecting adjacent struts, the points of inflection of adjacent stenting rings facing each other along an axis parallel to a longitudinal axis of the stent in a radially expanded stenting disposition while the stent is in an unbent configuration. Adjacent stenting rings are connected by connectors extending from a point of inflection on one stenting ring to a facing point of inflection on another stenting ring, the connectors being linear along an entire length thereof and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the stent, each of the connectors having a length shorter than a length of each of the struts.
