1. A touch input system, comprising:
- a medium configured to receive a touch input on a touch input region of the medium, wherein the medium includes a first surface where the touch input is receivable;
an antenna coupled to the medium as a layer that is at least in part transparent, wherein the antenna is a wireless communication antenna configured to receive a wireless signal, the antenna is not a touch detection conductor, and the antenna is not utilized to detect a capacitance change or a resistance change to detect the touch input;
an acoustic transmitter substantially coupled to the medium, wherein the transmitter is configured to freely propagate a signal through the medium in multiple directions within the touch input region from the same acoustic transmitter to a plurality of detectors and the freely propagated signal includes at least one of an acoustic signal or an ultrasonic signal;
at least one of the detectors configured to receive a disturbed signal, wherein the disturbed signal includes at least a portion of the freely propagated signal that has been disturbed by the touch input on the first surface;
a digital signal generator configured to generate a simplified reference signal based at least in part a pseudorandom binary sequence included in the freely propagated signal of the acoustic transmitter; and
a processor configured to determine a force of the touch input based at least in part on a comparison of the disturbed signal to the simplified reference signal.

Abstract
A touch input system is disclosed. The system includes a medium configured to receive a touch input. The system includes an antenna located substantially adjacent and parallel to at least a portion of the medium where the touch input may be received. The system includes a transmitter substantially coupled to the medium, wherein the transmitter is configured to propagate a propagating signal through the medium. The system includes a detector that detects a disturbance to the propagating signal by the touch input, wherein the detector is configured to output data indicating the disturbance of the propagating signal that is indicative of a user indication.
