- a power source signature database that stores power source signatures for a plurality of power sources used in charging and refueling events within the vehicle, the power source signatures identifying an ultimate source of power;
an optimizing device which;
stores quantity data associating a quantity of the power being stored in the vehicle with the ultimate source based on the power source signatures; and
optimizes a plurality of parameters to determine a power to be consumed by the vehicle based on the quantity data; and
an operating mode setting device which sets an operating mode for powering the vehicle based on the determined power,wherein the plurality of parameters includes an environmental impact of a power source in the plurality of power sources.
