1. A system for maintaining a medical body area network (MBAN), the system comprising:
- one or more processors configured to perform operations that include;
communicating with devices connected to the MBAN over a primary channel and a secondary channel of the MBAN, each device of the devices assigned to one or more channels;
determining a duty cycle of each channel of the one or more channels, and a total duty cycle of a first respective duty cycle of the primary channel and a second respective duty cycle of the secondary channel;
when the duty cycle of the primary channel does not meet or exceed a duty cycle limit, and the total duty cycle does not meet or exceed the duty cycle limit;
assigning a device, that was assigned to the secondary channel, to the primary channel, andceasing communication of the device on the secondary channel; and
communicating with the devices over one or more of channels of the primary channel and secondary channel using a beacon-based superframe structure,wherein beacons of the primary channel include data regarding the beacon-based superframe structure of the secondary channel.

Abstract
A system and a method maintain a medical body area network (MBAN). Devices of the MBAN are communicated with over one or more channels of the MBAN. The one or more channels include a primary channel, and each of the devices is assigned to one of the one or more channels. Further, a duty cycle of each of the one or more channels is continuously monitored. In response to the duty cycle of the primary channel meeting or exceeding a duty cycle limit, a device of the devices is moved to a secondary channel.

-
communicating with devices connected to the MBAN over a primary channel and a secondary channel of the MBAN, each of the devices assigned to one or more channels; determining a duty cycle of each channel of the one or more channels; when the duty cycle of the primary channel does not meet or exceed a duty cycle limit; causing MBAN communications for a device, that was assigned to the secondary channel, to occur at the primary channel, and ceasing MBAN communications for the device on the secondary channel; and communicating with the devices over the primary channel and secondary channel using a beacon-based superframe structure, wherein beacons of the primary channel include data regarding the beacon-based superframe structure of the secondary channel. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12, 13, 14)

15. A non-transitory computer-readable medium configured to store instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations that include:
-
communicating with devices connected to a medical body area network (MBAN) over a primary channel and a secondary channel of the MBAN, each of the devices assigned to one or more channels; determining a duty cycle of each channel of the one or more channels, and a total duty cycle of a first respective duty cycle of the primary channel and a second respective duty cycle of the secondary channel; when the duty cycle of the primary channel does not meet or exceed a duty cycle limit, and the total duty cycle does not meet or exceed the duty cycle limit; causing MBAN communications for a device, that was assigned to the secondary channel, to occur at the primary channel, and ceasing MBAN communications for the device on the secondary channel; and communicating with the devices over the primary channel and secondary channel using a beacon-based superframe structure, wherein beacons of the primary channel include data regarding the beacon-based superframe structure of the secondary channel. - View Dependent Claims (16, 17, 18, 19, 20)
