An apparatus for biometric data capture, comprisingan interactive head-mounted display device comprising an optical assembly through which a surrounding environment and displayed content is viewable, a processor, and an integrated optical sensor assembly configured to record video of the surrounding environment of the interactive head-mounted display device;
- anda face detection facility comprising instructions executable to identify a facial image in the recorded video of an individual in the surrounding environment, in response to identifying the facial image, obtain an identity of the individual based on the facial image, and provide the obtained identity of the individual to the interactive head-mounted display device such that the obtained identity of the individual is displayed via the optical assembly at a position corresponding to a position of the individual in the surrounding environment.

Abstract
A method and apparatus for biometric data capture are provided. The apparatus includes in interactive head-mounted eyepiece worn by a user that includes an optical assembly through which a user views a surrounding environment and displayed content. The optical assembly comprises a corrective element that corrects the user'"'"'s view of the surrounding environment and an integrated processor for handling content to the user. An integrated optical sensor captures biometric data when the eyepiece is positioned so that a nearby individual is proximate to the eyepiece. Biometric data is captured using the eyepiece and is transmitted to a remote processing facility for interpretation. The remote processing facility interprets the captured biometric data and generates display content based on the interpretation. This display content is delivered to the eyepiece and displayed to the user.

recording video of a surrounding environment of an interactive head-mounted display device via an integrated optical sensor assembly of the interactive head-mounted display device; -
identifying a facial image in the recorded video of an individual in the surrounding environment; in response to identifying the facial image, obtaining an identity of the individual based on the facial image; generating display content based on the obtained identity of the individual, the display content comprising the identity of the individual obtained; and providing the display content to an optical assembly of the interactive head-mounted display device such that the display content is displayed via the optical assembly at a position corresponding to a position of the individual in the surrounding environment. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15, 16, 17)
