1. A surgical instrument system for use during a selected surgical procedure, comprising:
- a handle manipulable by a user;
a suction or irrigation tube connected to the handle and extending from a first end to a second end and having a first solid external wall and a first solid internal wall, a proximal end of the tube formed of a bendable and malleable aluminum tube; and
a biocompatible liner member preformed as a liner tube configured to be positioned in the tube and having a second external wall and a second internal wall, the second external wall bonded and fixed to the first internal wall of the tube throughout use of the surgical instrument system;
wherein the biocompatible liner member extends from the first end to the second end of the tube and includes a first liner extension portion extending around the first end of the tube from an internal surface to an exterior surface of the tube and a second liner extension portion extending around the second end of the tube from the internal surface to the exterior surface of the tube;
wherein the proximal end of the tube formed of the malleable aluminum tube is configured to be bent and shaped into various configurations to retain the bent or formed configuration without kinking or collapsing the first internal wall of the tube or the second internal wall of the biocompatible liner member; and
wherein the biocompatible liner member when bonded and fixed to the tube is wear and tear resistant to inhibit debris from the tube from exiting and passing through the tube when in use with the biocompatible liner member during suction or irrigation using the surgical instrument.

Abstract
A tube can include an elongated cannulated member that has an external wall. The tube can be navigated during a selected procedure. The tube can be shaped to selected configurations. The tube can include a liner bonded to an internal wall. The liner can be formed to inhibit debris from the cannulated member from exiting the cannulated member.

12. A surgical instrument system for use during a selected surgical procedure, comprising:
-
a first proximal malleable aluminum tube extending from a first end to a second end and having a first internal wall of a first diameter; a second distal tube positioned at the first end of the first proximal malleable aluminum tube and having a second internal wall of a second diameter; and a biocompatible liner member preformed as a tube and configured to be positioned in the first and second tubes and having a third external wall bonded and fixed to at least the first internal wall of the first proximal malleable aluminum tube and the second internal wall of the second distal tube throughout use of the surgical instrument system; wherein the second distal tube is inserted at least partially into the first end of the first proximal malleable aluminum tube; wherein the second distal tube is stiffer than the first proximal malleable aluminum tube; wherein the first proximal malleable aluminum tube is configured to be bendable and the biocompatible liner member is bonded and fixed to the first and second internal walls of the first and second tubes to resist coming loose during bending of the first proximal malleable aluminum tube and wear and tear resistant to inhibit debris from the first and second tubes from exiting and passing through the first and second tubes when in use with the biocompatible liner member; and wherein the proximal malleable aluminum tube is configured to be bent and shaped into various configurations to retain the bent or formed configuration without kinking or collapsing the first internal wall of the first proximal malleable aluminum tube or the second internal wall of the second distal tube. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20, 21)
