a sound management system configured to receive input from the implantable microphone and output a signal based on the input, whereinthe hearing prosthesis is configured to set at least one operational parameter of the sound management system based on input from a microphone external to the recipient of the implantable microphone, whereinthe hearing prosthesis is configured to automatically adjust an operation of the sound management system to compensate for a change in a transfer function between an accelerometer of the sound management system and the implantable microphone based on input from the microphone external to the recipient of the implantable microphone.

11. A method, comprising:

developing first data based on ambient sound captured externally to a recipient; and controlling an implantable sound capture system based at least in part on the first data, wherein the action of developing first data includes; comparing data based on an output signal of an implantable microphone of the implantable sound capture system that is based on sound captured by the implantable microphone to a signal based on the ambient sound captured externally to the recipient, wherein the sound captured by the implantable microphone originates from the same source of sound as that which originated the sound captured externally to the microphone, wherein the implantable sound capture system includes a noise cancellation system; the action of developing first data includes obtaining pseudo noise cancellation system operational parameters indicative of how the noise cancellation system of the implantable sound capture system should operate to cancel body conducted noise; and the action of comparing data is included in the action of obtaining pseudo noise cancellation system operational parameters, and the method further comprises limiting the operation of the noise cancellation system to the pseudo noise cancellation system operational parameters. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20)

21. A system, comprising:

a noise cancellation sub-system configured to at least partially cancel a body conducted noise component from a first signal that is output of an implantable microphone, wherein the first signal includes the body conducted noise component and an ambient sound component, and the system is further configured to at least partially cancel the body conducted noise component using a first algorithm that is based on a second signal that temporally preceded the first signal, wherein the second signal is based on captured sound that is at least one of (i) completely free of body conducted noise or (ii) completely comprised of ambient sound, wherein the system is configured to utilize a second algorithm, which is different from the first algorithm, to at least partially cancel the body conducted noise component upon a determination about the sound, wherein the second algorithm is based on a third signal that temporally preceded the first signal, wherein the third signal is based on a second captured sound that is at least one of (i) completely free of the body conducted noise or (ii) completely comprised of the ambient sound. - View Dependent Claims (22, 23, 24, 25, 26)
