1. An abnormality detecting apparatus for a rotating machine, comprising:

  • a plurality of sensors each of which detects an elastic wave generating in the rotating machine having a rotor during rotation of the rotor, the plurality of sensors being arranged at predetermined a plurality of different locations of the rotating machine;

    a calculating part which calculates phase differences between signals respectively output from two sensors of sets exclusive of a single set, the sets being predetermined combinations of two sensors among the plurality of sensors;

    a storing part which stores in advance information concerning a relationship between a combination of the phase differences and a contact position when a contact occurs during the rotation of the rotor, regarding the sets; and

    a specifying part which specifies the contact position by using the combination of the phase differences calculated by the calculating part and the information stored in the storing part.
