- positioning at least a portion of an analyte sensor at a first predetermined location under a skin surface at a first predetermined speed;
displacing the portion of the analyte sensor from the first predetermined location to a second predetermined location at a second predetermined speed slower than the first predetermined speed;
detecting one or more signals associated with an analyte level of a patient at the second predetermined location; and
wirelessly transmitting data corresponding to the one or more signals associated with the analyte level of the patient to a receiving device.
