System and method for monitoring athletic activity from multiple body locations
First Claim
1. An electronic module configured to be removeably engaged with any of a plurality of different receptacles connected to multiple different locations on a user'"'"'s body, each receptacle having an identification memory attached thereto, the electronic module comprising:
- an electronic communication interface that is configured to receive identifying information from the identification memory attached to the receptacle with which the module is engaged, wherein the electronic communication interface is configured for receiving the identifying information from the identification memory by physical contact with the receptacle when the module is engaged with the receptacle;
a non-transitory computer-readable medium that contains multiple algorithms for calculating athletic data;
a processor programmed with computer-executable instructions that when executed cause the processor to perform steps comprising;
(i) retrieving the identifying information from the identification memory, wherein the identifying information identifies the location of the receptacle on the user'"'"'s body;
(ii) selecting an algorithm from the multiple algorithms based on the identifying information;
(iii) receiving sensor data from a sensor in communication with the processor of the electronic module, wherein the sensor is configured to sense athletic movement of the user'"'"'s body; and
(iv) calculating the athletic data based on the sensor data, using the algorithm selected from the multiple algorithms.

Abstract
Systems and methods are provided for calculating athletic activity parameters. Multiple housings are position at different locations on a user'"'"'s body. The housings are configured to be removably engaged with an electronic module that includes a sensor and a processor configured to calculate athletic activity parameters. Each housing is connected to or includes an identification memory that stores information identifying a location of the housing. The electronic module uses the location information to select an algorithm to use when calculating the athletic activity parameters.
