1. An optical fingerprint sensing device comprising an array of photosensitive elements configured to capture a fingerprint pattern, said optical fingerprint sensing device comprising at least one processor configured to:

  • acquire information indicative of a change of an environmental parameter influencing the operation of said optical fingerprint sensing device; and

    if said change is larger than a predetermined threshold value, perform a calibration operation of said optical fingerprint sensing device,wherein said optical fingerprint sensing device further comprises a temperature sensor, a humidity sensor, and/or an electromagnetic field sensor, andwherein said environmental parameter is selected from the group comprising humidity, temperature and electrical field strength,wherein acquiring information indicative of a change of an environmental parameter comprises;

    determining a present value of the environmental parameter;

    determining a difference between said present value of said environmental parameter and a predetermined value of said environmental parameter; and

    if said difference is larger than said predetermined threshold value, performing said calibration operation of said optical fingerprint sensing device, andwherein said predetermined value of said environmental parameter is a value determined at a last performed calibration operation.
